Report: The Future of Behavioral Health in Children and Adolescents in New Mexico

The challenge of providing behavioral health services for children and adolescents is daunting. The needs of children and adolescents are growing, while states, communities and providers struggle to meet those needs within available resources. Fortunately, many new technologies have emerged that offer promising opportunities to stretch resources, meet family, community and individual needs, and allow more children and adolescents to lead healthy lives. While no single technology is an answer in itself, there are tools that can facilitate better care, home and community-based services.
HealthTech is pleased to announce the release of The Future of Behavioral Health in Children and Adolescents in New Mexico Report. This research was sponsored by Valueoptions®, Inc., the nation’s largest independent behavioral health care company, which provides services to more than 23 million individuals through a variety of contracts with state and county agencies, as well as with health plans and employers. In this report you will find descriptions of many technologies that are already available, and offer real improvements in care with opportunities to reach rural, underserved and multicultural families. Many of these technologies are relatively inexpensive, and represent new and more cost-effective ways to provide services and support clients and families.
The report will revolve around five technology-enabled strategies in Behavioral Health Services including:
- Expand the Role of Peer Networks
- Expand IT Infrastructure
- Develop Date Sharing and Use of Comprehensive Records
- Recognize Remote Supervision and Training for Licensure
- Develop Collaborative Care Models for Substance Abuse with Co-Occurring Disorders
HealthTech has conducted extensive research to identify innovative yet proven technology-enabled solutions to help you and your organization more effectively deliver behavioral health services to children and adolescents.
